About Me

Looking thoughtful. More likely distracted.
My name’s John, and this swanky little blog is a requirement for an informatics class at IUPUI where I am going to respond to a variety of prompts given to us by our brilliant and talented instructor, Jennifer (I expect extra credit for the shout out).

Yeah. Sorry for partying.
While this is my first semester of college (I’m 23), the more I get into informatics, the more interested I am becoming, and more certain that this was a good choice as far as careers go. While I plan on minoring in business and perhaps also economics, I’m also becoming more and more interested in the social and HCI side of informatics.
In my free time, I enjoy long walks on the beach, romantic candlelight dinners, and frolicking through endless fields of daisies. Seriously though, I enjoy spending time outside, and if it’s an expensive outdoor pursuit, I probably have at least tried it, and own gear to do it. I regularly backpack and geocache, and am in the process of learning to fly fish. I’ve dabbled in white water and touring kayaks, and spent several years rock climbing on a very regular basis, but I’ve fallen away from it fairly recently. My interest level in the shooting sports continues to grow, and my next big project is going to be getting started in High Power competitions.
